Position: Research Scientist/Cellular Immunologist

The Research Scientist will work as a part of a group of scientists that investigates the mechanisms of immune modulation by novel pathogen-derived molecular patterns. In doing so, will be responsible for conducting experiments aimed at identifying the cellular and molecular targets and in dissecting the mechanisms of action of such compounds.

 

Qualified candidates must have a B.S. or M.S. in immunology, cell and molecular biology or related field; training in immunology; detailed knowledge and sufficient experience in flow cytometry; experience working with human and murine cells; demonstrated expertise in cell culture assays; excellent organizational and time management skills; capable of working in a team environment; and possesses creativity, independence, and self-motivation with good communication skills.

Education:

BS or MS in Immunology/Cell/Molecular Biology with 2-4 years of experience


Required Technical Skills:
• Design and develop valid immunologic assays


• Experience and knowledge in flow cytometry a must


• Cell culture
     1. Ability to isolate human and murine immune cells from whole blood

     and culture of primary cells highly desirable
     2. Ability to conduct functional immune assays (i.e. phagocytosis,

     chemotaxis, proliferation, cytotoxicity etc.)


• Immunofluorescence staining, ELISA, Microscopy, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, Immunoprecipitation


• Basic biochemical analytical skills (i.e. protein & carbohydrate assays)


• Knowledgeable in statistical methods


• Ability to troubleshoot methods when necessary


• Adept computer skills (such as Microsoft Office, Softmax Pro, FlowJo, Prism Graph Pad etc)


• GLP/GMP experience or significant documentation experience a plus

• Excellent organizational skills (i.e. organization of data for presentations, reports and regulatory documents such as INDs and BLAs).
