Position: Research Scientist
Biothera is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to work as a part of its translational team in developing novel immunotherapies targeting cancer. The Research Scientist will demonstrate technical expertise in the area of development of cell-based functional assays and will contribute to implementation of immunoassays for analysis of biomarkers in clinical samples in a regulated environment. Primary responsibility will be the development and validation of function-based immunoassays and analysis of oncology clinical study samples for biomarkers.
The ideal candidate will have scientific understanding and experience in immunology, oncology, and/or clinical product development, with particular expertise in cell culture, protein quantitation methods (e.g. ELISA, Luminex, Western blot, quantitative IHC), general molecular biology skills and proficiency in assay development, validation and data analysis. Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and excels in a team environment.
Education:
MS or PhD in a scientific discipline with 3-5 years of relevant experience
Required Technical Skills:
Performs a wide variety of activities which may include one or more of the following:
- Performs function based bioassays (i.e. proliferation, cytotoxicity, wound healing, chemotaxis etc.) and protein quantitation methods (e.g. ELISA, Luminex, Western blot, quantitative IHC) to characterize immunotherapy.
- Experience in cell culture and biological sample handling from clinical or animal studies required.
- Performs, documents, and analyzes experimental data. Familiarity with complex data analysis and statistical analysis tools highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP and FDA drug/biologics regulations a plus.
- Writes and reviews documents such as technical reports, SOPs, validation reports and scientific manuscripts.
- Ensures compliance and maintains notebooks and other documentations up to date as per company SOPs.
