Position: Chemistry Research Scientist
Biothera is searching for a research chemist to contribute to an interdisciplinary team of scientists engaged in the development of complex polysaccharide-based pharmaceutical products targeting the human immune system.
Responsibilities:
- Execute multistep characterization assays to measure structural properties of polysaccharides.
- Operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation including GC/MS andS, HPLC.
- Conduct wet chemistry analytical methods.
- Follow standard operating procedures and report assay results in required report formats.
- Troubleshoot existing analytical methods and assist in the development of new methods.
The ability to generate and communicate high quality analytical results is important to this position. The candidate must posses the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Preferably a B.S./M.S. in chemistry with 3-5 years experience, although other educational and experience levels may be considered.
- Expertise in organic and analytical chemistry, experience in carbohydrate, polysaccharide or medicinal chemistry a plus.
- Experience with modern analytical instrumentation such as HPLC or GC.
